The backstage area of the Little Caesars Arena is busy with activity.  Breakdown has just concluded.  Wrestlers, referees, and other officials are packing things up and getting ready to leave for their hotels to stay for the night before taking the next trip.  It is all too familiar and normal for anyone involved in professional wrestling and for Clyde Sutter, this life is the kind of life he has always wanted.  He gets to travel the world while being paid to beat people up.  Beating people up is something he loved to do, he’d do it for free.  Getting paid to beat someone up is just icing on the cake.  The Assassin is even warming up to his agent and his lifestyle.

It was difficult at first, because clearly Mason Van Stanton wants to change Clyde Sutter and that just isn’t going to happen.  Sutter is who he is and he has no intention on changing any of that.  But Mason has slowly introduced the lap of luxury to The Assassin.  Now Sutter lives in a luxurious apartment in Raleigh and he is currently dating the daughter of a wealthy business associate of Mason’s; the business associate being Richard Davis and his daughter, Clyde’s latest love interest, is Anna Davis.  Of course, Mason doesn’t know that the two are dating.  Van Stanton, being the constant worrier that he is, would no doubt frown upon this relationship.  But what Mason does not know will not hurt him.  It will not hurt him at all.

Still, if Clyde wants to maintain secrecy he should probably not be out in public, in plain view, with his girlfriend.  Sutter doesn’t seem to care, though, as he walks through the backstage area with Anna Davis on his arm and by his side.  Sutter has always been rebellious with a “live for the moment” attitude about things.  He always does what he wants and what feels good at the time.  And right now showing off his love interest feels right.  He’ll deal with Mason Van Stanton if he has to…

“That was a fun show, Clyde!” Anna exclaims as she hugs herself close to The Assassin.  Davis has never been exposed to wrestling that much.  Her family are strict traditionalists and frown upon many combat sports outside of boxing.  Clyde introducing her to wrestling is new to Anna.  And that is not the only new thing he introduced to a wealthy young lady who grew up living in a bubble.

“Glad you enjoyed yourself, and you’re right, it is fun, but what makes it even better is that I get paid to do this shit.  I enjoy breaking another bones and would do it for free, just for the fun of it.  Here I get paid for it.”

“I guess you’re living the good life then, eh?” Anna says giggling.

“You could say that.” Sutter leans in and kisses her passionately on the lips.  Anna suddenly breaks the kiss when she is startled by the sound of someone approaching.  The two turn and Sutter sighs as he spots his agent, Mason Van Stanton, approaching slowly.  The Assassin can tell by the contorted glare on Van Stanton’s face that he is not happy.  Not happy at all.

“Am I interrupting anything important?”

“Yeah, you were dipshit.” Sutter remarks coldly.  Mason chuckles.

“Nice to see you too, Mr. Sutter.” He motions to Anna. “And who is this?”

“A woman.”

“I can see that, Mr. Sutter.  Your smart ass comments are not needed.”

Anna cautiously approaches Van Stanton and extends her hand. “Uh, I’m Anna.  Anna Davis.”

“Hello, Anna.” Van Stanton remarks after accepting the handshake. “My name is Mason Van Stanton and...don’t I know you from somewhere?”

“Yes,” Anna nods her head “you and my dad are friends.”

“That’s right, I remember now.”

This inane prattling between his girlfriend and his agent is boring The Assassin to absolute death.  Thus he decides to interject some of his own unique variety of entertainment into the equation. “You’re not flirting with my woman, are ya Van Stanton?”

“What the hell are you talking about?” Mason’s face turns red as he faces Sutter, looking on angrily.  Sutter smirks knowingly.

“Don’t play innocent with me.  I know all the moves that you’re making.  Besides, you are single again.”

“The divorce has not been finalized yet, Mr. Sutter…”

“Sure.” The Assassin winks. Then he turns to Anna and kisses her on the cheek. “Wait for me outside at the car, ok babe?”

“Sure.”

With that, Anna starts to walk away.  Mason and Clyde both watch as the young blonde makes her exit.  As soon as she is out of eyesight and earshot, the two men turn back to face one another.  Mason is now furious and holds nothing back as he points towards where Anna was just standing.

“Do you mind explaining that to me?”

“That’s a woman.  Her name is Anna.”

“What did I say about the smart ass comments?  Are you dating her?” Mason demands.  Sutter nods his head.

“Sure.  I mean, that is what guys and girls do, Mason.  Or has your dick gotten so fucking small and your balls fallen off to the point that you forgot what guys and girls do?” The Assassin can see the rage on Mason’s face.  He decides to push the buttons even more. “Maybe that’s why you and your woman Destiny got split?  You no longer could satisfy her like a real man so to save face you kicked her out first.”

“That’s not it.” Van Stanton remarks, shaking his head.

“You don’t have to pretend around me, buddy.” He winks at his agent which only further angers him. “Nice moves, Mason.  Nice moves.”

For Mason’s part, he wants to punch him in the face.  This is rude and very disrespectful and Mason hates being disrespected.  Still, this is Clyde Sutter and he is a monster of a man with his height and power.  Mason knows that diplomacy is probably better and cooler heads should prevail this time.  The sleazy con artist of an agent shakes his head.

“Look, forget about me and my life for a moment, because I’m here for you, Mr. Sutter.”

“What does any of this shit have to do with me?” Sutter snarls through the arrogant smirk on his face. “I’m not the one with no woman.”

“Hey I am happy for you, Clyde.  I am happy that you found love.”

“Love?” Sutter scoffs, rolling his eyes. “You think this shit is about love?  You think I love that tart?”

“You don’t?” Mason asks curiously.  Sutter just laughs and shakes his head.

“Nah!  She’s just a booty call.  That’s what Americans call it, right?”

“A booty call?” Mason arches his brow out of curiosity.  He knows what he heard but he isn’t quite sure he believes it.  Sutter nods his head in confirmation.

“You think I give a damn about that woman?  I’ve only kept her around this long because the sex is great and she gives good head.  Once I get bored with her I’ll kick her to the curb just like I did the last chick I was with.”

“That’s how you deal with women?” Mason shudders.  Even he isn’t this crooked. “Never say that in public or in front of a camera.”

“What’s wrong, Mason?  You don’t like the truth?  That’s all they’re good for, mate; keeping me happy.  This one’s pretty good but eventually I’ll grow bored with her…’style’...and I’ll kick her to the curb.  The last girl I had just didn’t have much of anything to offer so she didn’t last long.”

“Are all women just objects to you?” Mason demands. “They are more than that.”

“Says the man who threw his wife off the top of a hell in the cell.” The Assassin can’t help but laugh at what he sees as Mason Van Stanton’s clear hypocrisy.  Mason wants to claim the moral high ground but in truth he isn’t much better than Clyde.  Their only true difference is that Sutter is willing to admit it and embrace it. “Although, I will say that there was one chick I was with who was damn good.  I would still be with her today if she wasn’t stupid enough to dump me.”

“You mean she kicked YOU to the curb?” Mason smirks knowingly. “Who is this woman, pray tell?  I have to meet the one woman who actually kicked your ass to the curb.”

The Assassin smiles arrogantly. “Melinda Braddock.”

“Braddock?  As in Glory’s daughter?!” Mason’s eyes grow wide with shock. “What did you do to her?!”

“Anything I damn well pleased and she loved every fucking bit of it, even though she’ll deny it.”

Van Stanton is only now beginning to see just what kind of sociopath he has associated himself with.  He may not like the Braddock family but what Clyde is saying is horrible.  Plus if any of this were to ever become public knowledge then Sutter could be fired and Mason himself could be hurt due to his association with him.  Van Stanton quickly does damage control, thinking about what he should do.

“Have you done anything to Anna?”

“Everything I have done with Anna has been mutual, if that’s what you’re wondering.” Sutter snarls.  The Assassin does not like where this is going.  Mason sighs.

“Have you done anything else to her?”

“Like what?  I mean, she is real good in bed.  And y’know, unlike Melinda or that other bitch she seems willing to have some fun and enjoy life.  I’ve even showed her some things that never even knew existed.”

“What kinds of things?” Van Stanton presses for more information.  Sutter just grows more frustrated.

“The kinds of things that the wealthy are protected from in the little bubble they live in.  Anna at least seems somewhat interested in how the other half live while the rest of the rich pieces of shit don’t give a rat’s ass.”

Mason Van Stanton stares deeply into the intense glaring eyes of his client, “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter.  His client is being very vague in his explanation and Mason is certain that there is a reason for this.  Sutter is no dummy.  Mason then recalls the drugs he found in Sutter’s apartment.  Mason did say he would disavow all knowledge of Sutter’s drug use were it to come out but if he is sharing his drugs with Anna Davis then that could become a problem Mason can no longer ignore.

“Mr. Sutter, I have no idea what you are doing and quite honestly, I am not sure I want to know.  Just be very careful about what you do with that woman.  She is a member of a very wealthy and very powerful family.  Your entire career and world come be destroyed if you go too far with this, with whatever it is you’re doing.  Are we clear?”

“Oh I hear you, Mason.” Sutter pokes Mason in the chest. “But you need to understand that my world already was destroyed once before.  I know what it is like to live in hell.  I am not afraid to live in hell again.  Are we clear?”

There is a tense staredown before Mason finally nods his head. “Yes, I think we are clear.”

“Good.  Now I gotta go and see my woman, she’s waiting on me.  I’ll tell her you said hey…”

They say that idle hands are the devil’s workshop.  In the case of Clyde Sutter being idle is definitely not ideal.  The Assassin has been sitting on a comfortable sofa in a waiting room for what seems like forever.  He has been summoned by his agent, Mason Van Stanton, to come see him.  What this is about is unknown to Sutter, but he doesn’t like the boredom that this waiting has generated.  He doesn’t like this waiting.  He needs to be doing something.  He needs to be active.  Luckily, he is not alone.  Sitting next to him is his girlfriend, Anna Davis, who is wearing torn denim jeans, flip flops, and a black long sleeve shirt.  This is far removed from her typical high class fashion, which is partially due to the influence of Sutter himself.  As for Sutter, he is wearing denim jeans, black boots, and a plain black t-shirt.  He is wearing a black leather jacket and he stares coldly across at the receptionist, a young blonde woman, probably in her mid to late twenties if he had to guess.

“This is bullshit!” Sutter exclaims angrily.

“Calm down, Clyde.” Anna says quietly, laying her head upon Sutter’s chest.  He growls angrily.

“I can’t calm down.  This little bitch is making me wait!”

“I’m sure there’s a reason.”

“Yeah, he’s playing with me.” Sutter snaps back angrily.  The receptionist takes note of it but says nothing.

“Why does your agent need to see you anyway?”

“Don’t know.”

This is not quite a lie.  Van Stanton never said why he wanted to see Clyde Sutter today but it doesn’t take a genius for Sutter to figure it out.  Just a few days ago the two had an argument about Sutter’s private life and Mason had warned him not to get involved with Anna Davis any further.  Sutter guesses that this is going to be yet another lecture about how he should live his life.  Mason Van Stanton may be knowledgeable about business and may be a good agent but he has no damn business telling Sutter how to live his life.  None whatsoever.  His are then interrupted when the phone at the receptionist’s desk rings.  The receptionist is grateful for the momentary distraction from Sutter’s anger and childish yelling.  She immediately picks it up.

“Hello?”... “Yes, he’s here.”... “I’ll send him in, Mr. Van Stanton.”

Sutter immediately perks up. “So he’s ready?”

“Yes.  You may go see Mr. Van Stanton now.”

The Assassin smirks knowingly as he stands up and walks over towards Mason’s door.  He flashes a smile and wink at the receptionist along the way.  Upon opening the door Clyde Sutter walks, almost struts even, into the office of Mason Van Stanton.  Sutter’s agent sits at his oak desk with a stoic gaze etched across his face.  The Assassin cannot seem to read the expression on Van Stanton; he has quite the poker face, Sutter thinks to himself with a light chuckle under his breath.  Mason nods his head, recognizing his client’s entrance into the room before motioning to one of the nearby chairs by the desk.

“Sit down.”

“Right to business then?” Sutter rolls his eyes. “Fine by me.”

The Assassin approaches one of the chairs and sits down.  He glares across the desk into Mason’s eyes.  Mason doesn’t back down either, staring right back at his client.  A tense moment passes before finally Van Stanton speaks.

“I spoke to Richard Davis yesterday.”

“Yeah, so?”

“Apparently he found crack, cocaine, and heroine in his daughter’s room.”

Sutter had a feeling that this had to do with his relationship with Anna and this just confirms it.  He is responsible for Anna having those drugs and he is upset that Anna was dumb enough to get caught but he isn’t going to let Mason see that.  He maintains his poker face and remains quiet.

“Funny thing is, Anna had always been a good girl.  Clean cut, well behaved, perfect.” Van Stanton points an accusatory finger at Clyde. “Until she met you.  Now she is misbehaving, talking back to her parents, getting in trouble with the law, and now they found these drugs.”

“If you’re gonna accuse me of fucking her up then go ahead and do it!” Sutter snaps, shouting angrily at Van Stanton.

“I am not accusing you of anything, I am merely relaying a message that was first relayed to me by Mr. Davis, who also told me that he has a strong suspicion that you were behind his daughter’s sudden turnaround.”

“The old piece of shit can’t prove it.” Sutter snarls.  Van Stanton nods his head.

“Maybe not but he is very well connected and can get both of us in deep trouble.  You obviously do not care about my well being but think about yourself.  You are a wrestler now.  You told me that was your dream and now you have achieved it.  That dream could come to an end if Anna’s parents choose to pursue legal action against you.”

The Assassin stares deep into his agent’s eyes and realizes that he isn’t kidding.  And despite his own claim to have experienced hell and not being afraid of it, he doesn’t want to lose his wrestling career.

“So what does he want?”

“Just two things; one he doesn’t want you to see his daughter ever again.  Second, he wants you to seek psychiatric treatment.”

“Psychiatric treatment?!  Fuck that shit!  I’ll take my chances with the law!”

“Seriously, Mr. Sutter?” Mason asks. “Do you seriously want to take a gamble with your wrestling career on the line here?  I can protect you but you need to start working as a member of this team here.”

Sutter’s instincts tell him to fight back but his mind tells him that Van Stanton is right.  Fighting back would end in loss.  Sutter sighs and nods his head. “Fine...we’ll do things your way…”

“Good.  I’ll call Mr. Davis and let him know the good news.”

Sutter doesn’t even bother to say goodbye to his agent.  He stands up and storms out of Mason’s office, slamming the door shut behind him.  He storms angrily out into the reception area and heads towards the door where Anna Davis still sits, waiting for him.

“Come on, we’re going.”

“What happened?” She asks innocently. “You look mad.”

“Don’t ask fucking questions!”

Anna raises her eyes wide in shock.  She hasn’t seen this side of Clyde Sutter before.  She stands up and follows him out the door.  She follows him as they walk down the sidewalk towards the car Sutter drove them here in.

“Talk to me, Clyde.” Anna begs.  “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.  Just shut up.”

“Clyde…”

He stops suddenly and then slaps her across the face. “I SAID SHUT UP!” There is a rage across his face and Anna, she is fearful as well as sad, sad that he struck her.  “Stay right here if you know what’s good for you.”

He turns and starts to walk away.  Anna tries to follow him. “Clyde, wait…”

“I said do not follow me!” He turns and shouts even louder.  This is beginning to attract some attention but Sutter is in a zone right now and doesn’t seem to care.  Anna, for her part, seems genuinely afraid and begins to slowly back away.  Sutter smirks as he turns back around and walks towards his car.  He gets in and turns it on and then drives off.  He sees Anna getting smaller and smaller in the rear view and he chuckles to himself.

“Shame.  She was great in bed…”

The camera begins recording in what appears to be a back alley.  The lightning is poor, just good enough for this promo to air and just good enough to see that this place is dirty, and not the kind of place you want to hang around for too long.  A few moments later Mason Van Stanton emerges into view, flanked by his client, “The Assassin” Clyde Sutter.  The two individuals are a contrast to one another with Mason in a black and white suit looking nice and crisp, very well done, whereas Sutter is wearing denim jeans, black boots, no shirt, and a long black trenchcoat.

“Hello, my name is Mason Van Stanton, agent of the stars.  I am the man who can make your dreams come true and I truly do love making dreams come true.  My record of making dreams come true is absolutely sparkling.  Just look at my work in Global Championship Wrestling where I managed the former tag team champions Kendra Classic and Hannah Myers and I even guided my ungrateful soon to be former wife to a world championship.  There was even a woman, formerly known as Julia Braddock, who wanted to escape the intimidating and powerful shadow of the Braddock family and make a name for herself, so I made her into Chastity Alexis Noel and guided her to championship glory.”  Van Stanton points to the massive Sutter standing next to him. “Making dreams come true is what I do and I do it better than anyone else.  I now have taken the dreams of this man and made them come true before your very eyes.  All Mr. Sutter wanted was to become a wrestler, he wanted to compete inside of the squared circle before the great wrestling fans and become recognized as one of the best.  Some people have tried to ruin his dream but I would not allow that to happen.  I could not live with myself if I allowed this young man’s dreams get destroyed because of the jealousy of a few.  So I stood up and fought for his dream and I made it come true by getting him signed to a contract here in Supreme Championship Wrestling.”

Van Stanton smirks knowingly. “Dreams can come true and sometimes you need help achieving your dreams, but Mr. Sutter likes to take charge of his own life.  He likes to get things done on his own.  He doesn’t like having to rely on other people to achieve his dream.  I respect him for that and I am going to be proud as I watch him lead his Trios Buy In team to victory at Day of Infamy.  It will be the first great big step towards achieving a dream that can only be obtained through a Trios contract.”

Mason steps back into the darkness allowing what little light there is to be had by The Assassin himself.  Sutter chuckles lightly. “I watched Trios last year from the sidelines.  I watched Glory Braddock, Regan Street, and Kellen Jeffries win Trios.  And what did I see them do with their contracts?  I saw them waste those contracts.  Kellen gave his away in a fucking battle royal just so he could be a dumbass Santa.  Regan literally gave hers away for a bitch of a daughter dumb enough to sign her life away to the Beauty Factory.  Glory was the only one who at least tried to use hers in a wise manner but she fucked that up by losing to Alistaire Allocco at Rise To Greatness.  With Trios you can do anything but last year’s winners were complete and utter disappointments.  This year needs to be different.  This year needs to have a real winner with a Trios contract to show you fucking clowns how it’s done.  What SCW needs is me with a Trios contract.”

“Mason is right though, I do not like having to rely on other people to help me accomplish my goals.  I do not need any help and I damn sure do not want any fucking help.  Unfortunately this Trios Buy In bullshit is different.  You see, I cannot rely on the pathetic losers that I am teaming with.  If I had to rely on that pasty faced idiot Aaron Blackbourne, the whiny mask loving twerp Konrad, or the entitled jackass Owen Cruze to help me get the job done, then I know my dreams of winning a Trios would be doomed before it even started.” Sutter shakes his head. “So no, I am not relying on those three fuckers to do a damn thing for me.  Instead they will have to rely on me to carry their sorry asses over the fucking finish line.”

The Assassin laughs nastily. “Oh but don’t thank me boys, don’t stop and thank me because after I am through whipping the collective asses of Kandis’s Bitch, The Living Mummy, Angelica Jones Wannabe, and Frosty The Snow Bitch, I am going to finish the night off by slowly and surely picking apart my ‘partners’ one by damn one until I am the last man standing.  Hell, I am already the last man standing because I am the only REAL man in the entire fucking match, let alone on my team, but I will put my own personal exclamation point on it at Day of Infamy.  Believe that, bitches.”
